On Tuesday, Sting announced on social media that he has been forced to postpone a series of upcoming concerts due to illness, as well as having to cancel a planned appearance at an awards show. Sting wrote that the show postponements and event cancellation were made “on advisement from his doctor, due to illness,” while the legendary singer expressed his “sincere regret” about disappointing his fans. Sting won’t be attending the Bass Magazine Awards on Thursday (January 23), and rescheduled his STING 3.0 concerts in Phoenix, Arizona (from January 24 to June 1), and Wheatland, California (from January 26 to May 28), and moved his performance at the Cherrytree Music Company’s 20th anniversary to May 29. On Wednesday, Sting gave an update on his condition while thanking fans for their support. “I am steadily improving from a temporary throat infection which has prevented me from singing, though I’m looking forward to resuming my performances and rescheduled shows soon.” Sting is still scheduled to appear at the FireAid benefit concert on January 30.
